MISSION & OUTREACH: Red Bird Mission

For at least 20 years, North Church has participated in the coordinated effort of Redbird Mission (Beverly, Kentucky) to furnish school supplies and equipment by collecting Campbell’s labels. Contributors simply drop off labels at the church office, and volunteers periodically collect, trim, and mail them. The program provides an easy way to help with church mission work. Last year, Redbird Mission School redeemed 1.6 million labels.

NO MORE FRONT LABELS is the change Campbell’s has declared, effective immediately. The company is not canceling its support for education, but it has changed what is submitted. Instead, the barcode and adjoining “point value” coupon (showing a Campbell’s kid in a mortarboard) will be collected. See the example shown just below, or go to www.labelsforeducation.com for more information.

Faithful NUMC donors already keep a sandwich bag in one kitchen drawer to collect labels. Now it is time to discard front labels and to save “Labels for Education” coupons instead. Please consider becoming a collector if you have not already done so. Keeping the “Labels for Education” coupons from Campbell’s, Prego, General Mills, Swanson, etc., products takes little time or effort on your part, but it pays big dividends – from basketballs to buses – for students at Redbird Mission School.
