MISSION & OUTREACH: Local Mission

Bread n’ Bowl
Each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday a soup meal is served from 11:00am to Noon to anyone who comes to eat. Take-out is also provided.

Coburn Place
Different groups in the congregation sponsor birthday parties every other month for residents at Coburn Place , a women’s domestic violence shelter.

Farmers’ Market
From mid-May through October, every Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30pm we sponsor a Farmers’ Market. Fresh produce and other items are available for purchase, and all vendors accept WIC vouchers.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
Three times a year for one week at a time we house homeless families (max 14 persons.) We provide meals and evening activities, and transportation to a day center each morning.

Jubilee Christmas
On one Saturday in December gifts are wrapped by parents of designated neighborhood families to take home for Christmas. Gifts are donated by members of the congregation.

Juneteenth Celebration
Juneteenth is the celebration of when the last slaves were notified that they were FREE following the Emancipation Proclamation. We have a festival in coordination with the Farmers’ Market.

Leger Family
Financial support has been provided to the Leger family since they immigrated from Haiti .

Mid-North Food Pantry
During the months of January and June we collect non-perishable items for the food pantry.

School 43 school supplies
Each year in August we collect school supplies to be donated to IPS School 43.

Special Friends Party
Each December we host a party for adults with developmental disabilities. We provide music, punch and cookies and great fellowship for guests and their parents or caregivers.

Underneath We Are All The Same
Annual drive to collect underwear for kids in the community.
