How can we make a difference in the world? How can we cross the barriers
of race and class that so often divide? How can we connect with the
great issues of our time?" We know from experience that the answers to
these questions are not easy. Still, such questions have long been
important to us. If the question is, "Dare we care about more than
ourselves?", North Church answers with a resounding "Yes!" "Reaching
out" is a big part of who we are.
When criticized for crossing traditional boundaries, John Wesley, the
founder of Methodism, said, "The world is my parish." North Church
honors that statement serving missions here at home, across the state,
the nation and in countries around the world.
