| Martin has been organist at North since March
2005, after being unanimously selected by the
church’s search committee.
Martin, a 1990 graduate of DePauw University
with a major in keyboard performance and minors
in orchestration and composition, has been organist
at Indianapolis-area churches including Northminster
Presbyterian, Chapel Hill United Methodist and
Second Presbyterian.
He has been accompanist for Jordan College of
Fine Arts at Butler University and the Butler
University Chorale and the Indianapolis Children’s
Choir and Youth Chorale. He also is a choral-music
composer and arranger, with published compositions
to his credit.
Recent performances include Saint Saens Symphony
No. 3, with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra,
and organ concerts in the Northminster Presbyterian
Church Fine Arts Series, the Long Center Theatre
Organ Series in Lafayette and the Fayette (Ohio)
Arts Council’s Organ Concert Series.
He rebuilds, restores and collects two-manual
and pedal reed organs from the late 19th and early
20th centuries.
