Martin has been organist/assistant director at North since 2005 after being unanimously selected by the church’s search committee.
Martin, a 1990 graduate of DePauw University, leads an active musical career as a concert organist, theatre organist, composer and arranger, and in addition to his duties at North church, one of the senior staff accompanists for the Indianapolis Children’s Choir and Youth Chorale. As a performing artist, Martin has performed at many of the major concert venues in the United States. In addition, he has appeared with both the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performing the Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3, and with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra performing the famous Poulenc Organ Concerto.
At North, Mr. Ellis is active with the growing choral program as the primary organist/pianist for the groups as well as assistant program director with Mr. Mark Gilgallon. Martin is also the director of the Cathedral Ringers Handbell Ensemble and coordinates the handbell program at North Methodist.
Personally, Martin has trained and cares for his three exotic parrots, and restores and collects large antique reed organs.
