| Lisa, whose professional role at North Church
began in July, 2005, works in adult education,
parish development, hospitality, new membership,
and discipleship, in addition to her traditional
pastoral participation in worship leadership,
baptisms, and weddings – “and I’m
still waiting to see all the places God will lead
me!” she says.
Lisa says her unofficial relationship with North
began several months before her appointment to
the church, “as I prayerfully considered
where God might be calling me in my first appointment.’’
Now, as a member of North’s professional
staff, she says, “One of my deepest passions
is multicultural ministry. I feel God calling
me to bring people together across lines of race,
economics, language, gender, age, health status,
education, and sexual orientation. North stands
at a unique location in terms of its geography,
history, politics, and service in the community.
It is a church bursting with opportunity for multicultural
ministry as we warmly welcome and lovingly embrace
all people in the Body of Christ. ”
Of her goals, she says, “My prayer is that
we can dream God’s dreams for this church,
and then find the courage to act upon those dreams.
I envision a dynamic, inviting, growing, grace-filled,
Spirit-led, faithful Body of Christ who shares
God’s love with the world.
Lisa has a bachelor’s degree in journalism
and French from Indiana University and a Master
of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys jogging, participating
in water sports, reading, writing, playing piano
and guitar, and spending time with family and
friends – and with her dog,
Isaiah.
