Board of Directors
The Board of Directors has the responsibility for the general oversight of the committees of North Church and serves as the Administrative Board provided for in the Methodist Book of Discipline. It is composed of 12 members who serve 3-year terms and are elected by the members. The Board typically meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Questions: Contact Shannon Priddy.
The Ministries Council develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates programs and ministries of the congregation. It is composed of representatives from each of the ministry teams (Worship & Arts, Discipleship & Formation, Mission & Outreach, and Care & Nurture). The Ministries Council typically meets monthly on the first Wednesday. Questions: Contact Eric Galloway.
Lay Leadership Committee
The Nominations Committee oversees the identification, development, and care for the volunteer leaders at North Church. Key initiatives include preparing the annual nomination slate and providing oversight of volunteer service and leadership development at the church. Questions: Contact Kathleen Custer.
The Finance Committee develops and administers a coordinated plan of fiscal and administrative policies and procedures for the church. It oversees the financial health, the annual audit, provides financial direction, and communicates the church’s financial condition to the Board of Directors. Meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of the month. Questions: Contact Richard Kluger.
Staff Parish Committee
The Staff Parish Committee acts as a liaison between the congregation and its staff and clergy. The committee sets employment policy, guides the work of the management team, and works to ensure that North Church is a fulfilling place to work. Meetings are usually held on the first Tuesday of the month. Members of this committee cannot be related to a North Church staff member. Questions: Contact Jim McDonald.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is charged with the care and maintenance of church property and holds title to the church’s property, buildings, and equipment. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month. Trustees must be at least 18 years of age and key items addressed include establishing policies and practices regarding church property, disaster planning, land acquisition, and construction planning.
